White kitchens & cream kitchens
White kitchens & cream kitchens will
continue to be the most popular choices for 2014. Although many
consumers often consider mixing white or cream with another colour,
buying a fitted kitchen is a costly exercise & in the end, most
consumers tend to choose the safest neutral colours.
Several of the latest white & cream kitchens are pictured below.
Grey kitchens
This year has seen grey start to challenge cream as the 2nd
most popular kitchen colour & this trend looks to accelerate in
2014. Whether it be a striking modern gloss kitchen or a classical
styled painted kitchen, light grey, mid grey & dark grey kitchens
will all be in big demand.
4 of the latest grey kitchens available are shown below.
Grey hybrid kitchens
Grey hybrid colours, (i.e. grey mixed with another colour) are also on trend for 2014.
Examples of these are brown-grey, suede & green-grey (sage) kitchens, all pictured below
Rustic wood kitchens
2013 has seen a growth in popularity of
rustic wood kitchens, particularly with a rough sawn finish. This trend
looks set to continue into 2014.
Examples of rustic wood kitchens are shown below.
Using glass splashbacks to add colour to white units
In 2013 the trend was for plain white
kitchen cabinets combined with a colourful glass splashback to add
colour. This trend will continue into 2014.

Using units or accessories to add colour to white units
A new trend is also emerging. Rather than
using a glass splashback to add a splash of colour to plain white
kitchens cabinets, people instead are using a few bright coloured
cabinets or accessories. This is shown in the 3 pictures below. This is a
great idea if you’re working to a tight budget as glass splashbacks are
expensive so big savings can be made if they are not needed.
